The Audi Q2 is a mini or subcompact luxury SUV first revealed to the public at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Production began the same year in Ingolstadt for the 2017 model year.
Based on the VW MQB platform, Q2 has the engine in the front and sends power to either front or all wheels via Audi's Quattro system. It is the smallest and the least expensive SUV from Audi's lineup, characterized by the design-over-practicality approach, with the rear seats being tighter and boot smaller than the competition's.
The Q2 is available in a variety of trim levels: Technik, Vorsprung, SQ2 Vorsprung, SQ2, SQ2 Black Edition, Black Edition, SE, Sport, Edition 1, S Line, and Design.
- The basic equipment includes 3x3-point rear seatbelts, ABS, alarm, 17-inch alloy wheels, audio remote, CD, driver's airbag, electric mirrors, folding rear seats, height-adjustable driver's seat, Isofix child seat anchor points, parking sensors, PAS, passenger's airbag, remote locking, service indicator, steering wheel rake and reach adjustment.
- Black edition adds: Air conditioning, Body-coloured bumpers, Cruise control, Front electric windows, Headlight washers, Partial leather seat trim, Rear electric windows, Sat Nav, Sports seats

- Sport trim level adds: Air conditioning, Body-coloured bumpers, Cloth seat trim with leather accents, Cruise control, Front electric windows, Rear electric windows, Sat Nav, Sports seats, Automatic Start and Stop, Auto Climate control with Dual temp zones, Autonomous Emergency braking, Active park assist, Anti-Slip regulation, Brake assist, Electronic differential lock and stability control, Lane-keeping assist, Sound system with eight speakers, Torque transfer control
- Design trim level adds: Auto Climate Control with Dual Temp zones, Brake assist, Lane Keeping Assist, 8-speaker Sound system, Torque transfer control, Paddle shifters, LED headlights, Anti-slip regulation, Active park assist
The Euro NCAP tested the Q2 and rated it 5 stars for Overall safety. It received 93% and 35.6 points in Adult Occupant safety, 86% and 42.4 points in Child Occupant safety, 70% and 29.6 points in Pedestrian safety, and 60% and 7.3 points in Safety Assist systems.
In Australia, Audi offers the following powertrain options with the Q2:
- 1.4L TFSI Design Inline-Four petrol engine, with a power output of 110kW (148hp) at 5000-6000rpm and 250Nm of torque at 1500-3500rpm, front-wheel drive, and a 7-speed automatic transmission. It is capable of reaching 208km/h and 0-100km/h acceleration in 9.0 seconds
- 2.0L TFSI Sport Inline-Four petrol engine, with a power output of 140kW (188hp) at 4200-6000rpm and 320Nm of torque at 1450-4150rpm, front-wheel or quattro drive and a 7-speed automatic transmission. It is capable of reaching 219km/h and 0-100km/h acceleration in 6.8 seconds
- 2.0L TDI Sport Inline-Four diesel engine, with a power output of 140kW (188hp) at 3500-4000rpm and 400Nm of torque at 1900-3300rpm, quattro drive, and a 7-speed automatic transmission. It is capable of reaching 218km/h and 0-100km/h acceleration in 7.0 seconds
