The Audi S1 is a high-performance variant of Audi’s supermini class A1, available from 2014 to 2018, and represents Audi's smallest S model. It has a powerful engine and four-wheel drive that lend it significant performance potential but at the expense of ride comfort and weight.
Its 2.0L TFSi turbocharged petrol engine produces 169 kW (227hp) and 370 Nm of torque, same as in S3 but without as much power. It is capable of 0-100 km/h acceleration in 5.8 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. The engine teams up with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The front suspension has MacPherson strut, lower, wishbone, coil spring, gas damper, and anti-roll bar, while the rear has a multi-link system, coil springs, adaptive dampers, as well as anti-roll bar. Electronic stability control (ESC) and large ventilated brakes help keep the car on the road.
To make the S1 stand apart from the regular A1, Audi equipped it with 17-inch alloy wheels, roof spoiler, and a pronounced front bumper. A larger spoiler and exclusive set of colors were available as options.
In Australia, A1 came with the following equipment:
Dual Front Airbags Package, Anti-lock Braking, Auto Climate Control with Dual Temp Zones, Alarm System/Remote Anti Theft, 17-Inch Alloy Wheels (18-inch as option), Brake Assist, Cruise Control, Central Locking Remote Control, Diff Locks, Electronic Brake Force Distribution, Electronic Stability Program, Fog Lights - Front, Head Airbags, Engine Immobiliser, Leather Steering Wheel, Leather Upholstery, Parking Distance Control Rear, Power front seats, Power Mirrors, Power Steering, Power Windows, Rear Spoiler, Side Front Airbags, Sport Seats, Sound System with 10 Speakers, Premium Sound System, Sports Suspension, Trip Computer, Xenon Headlight.
