The magnificent BMW X1 series first appeared on the scene in 2009. Over the years, the model has undergone several transformations that have made it become one of the top luxury subcompact SUVs in the world. For instance, the 2019 X1 model is part of the generation improved from the 2016 model that had an all-wheel-drive system.
The four-wheel-drive was discontinued in 2017 when BMW made it an optional feature. BMW X1 boasts of a powerful engine that helps it to capably tackle corners and rough terrain. It is fuel efficient and offers excellent riding experience.
BMW X1 Interior
The X1 accommodates five people comfortably. The seats are very supportive, with reclining second-row seats. Legroom is adequate in both rows, even for adults. The rear outboard seat has two sets of LATCH seat connectors while the rear middle seat has an additional tether on its upper part. This LATCH system has given the X1 the second-highest rating for ease of use by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
Many have praised the X1 for its soft-touch dashboard and interior premium styling. The standard synthetic leather upholstery is upgradable to genuine leather. Optional trims include wood accents and brushed aluminium trims.
The X1 offers lots of cargo space compared to its competitors. Just behind the back row, there’s a 27.1 cubic feet of cargo space, enough for you to pack whatever you need for your journey. If you need more space, you can fold down the split-folding rear seat to create 58.7 cubic feet of space. Of course, this would mean you’ll have to carry fewer passengers. In its class, its cargo capacity is among the highest while providing enough space for passengers to get comfortable.
