Peugeot 4008

The Peugeot 4008 is a compact SUV designed by Cristian Gudima, introduced in September of 2011. It had its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 2012 alongside Peugeot 208. Production started in 2012 and ended in 2017 with the second-generation Peugeot 3008 succeeding it. There are plans to reintroduce the 4008 with a refreshed body style in 2020, and Peugeot may decide to continue its lineage into a second generation.

The 4008 has a front-engine, four-wheel-drive layout and is based on the Mitsubishi ASX platform, made in collaboration with Mitsubishi and shared with Mitsubishi ASX and Citroën C4 Aircross. While the Citroën was available worldwide, the Peugeot 4008 was sold in a limited number in Europe, South America, and Asia, as well as New Zealand and Australia.

It was available in Active (4x2), Active (4x4), and Allure (4x4) trim levels.

The Active trim levels act as Base equipment packages and include the following:

Airbags (Dual Front, Driver’s Knee, Head, Side), ABS, Automatic Air Con/Climate Control, Adjustable Driver's Seat (Manual), Roof-Mounted Antenna (Bee-Sting Ttype), Adjustable Steering Wheel (Tilt & Telescopic), Ambient Temperature Display, 16-Inch Alloy Wheels, Brake Assist, Body Coloured Exterior Door Handles, Body Coloured Exterior Mirrors, Cruise Control, Cargo Cover, Central Locking Remote Control, Child Seat Anchor Points, Cloth Trim, Digital Clock, Driver Foot Rest, Dust and Pollen Filter, DRL - LED, Dusk-Sensing Headlights, EBD, ESP, Front Fog Lights, Glovebox Cooler, Adjustable Headrests (All Seats), Hill Holder, Halogen Headlights, Headlights On Warning, High-Mounted Rear Stop Light, Illuminated - Entry/Exit with Delayed Fade, Engine Immobiliser, Leather Steering Wheel, Parking Distance Control Rear, Power Mirrors/Steering/Windows, Rear Centre Armrest, Radio CD with 6 Speakers, Roof Rails, Rear Privacy Glass, Roof-mounted Rear Spoiler, Rain-Sensing Wipers, Reversing Camera, Rear Window Demister, Rear Wiper/Washer, Front Seatbelts (Height-Adjustable, Load Limiters, Pretensioners), Seatbelts Lap/Sash (All Seats), Side Impact Protection, Start/Stop Button, Steering Wheel-Mounted Audio Controls, Spare Wheel, Trip Computer, Traction Control System

The Allure trim level adds 18-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, leather upholstery, power front seats, and Xenon headlights.

The 4008 came with a single engine option, which was a 2.0L inline-four petrol engine producing 110 kW at 6000rpm and 197 Nm of torque at 4200rpm, paired with a CVT automatic transmission in the Active (4x2) and Allure (4x4) trim, and a 5-speed manual gearbox in the Active (4x4) trim.

There are talks about an updated coupe-styled version coming up in 2020, which Peugeot intends to compete with Toyota C-HR.
