Gear pumps and how they work

A gear pump is an encased system of gears responsible for moving fluid mechanically through cyclic pumping motions. It is referred to as a positive displacement (aka fixed displacement) pump because it pumps a constant amount of fluid during each revolution. It makes use of the gears’ meshing to pump the fluid by displacement.

Volvo S70

Exterior changes seemed to be just an upgrade with the redesigned front bumper, the sloping V-shaped hood and body-coloured trims. However, according to Volvo, over 1,800 changes were done to make the S70 more powerful, dynamic, and safer than the model it was replacing. The interior was also redesigned to create a sense of spaciousness and comfort. New front seat height adjustment and better heating were incorporated. The dash and controls integrated the design from their higher-end model C70.

The American market already had a GTO-named car that was short for Grand Turismo Omologato. Lexus CT

Engine misfires can be fixed quickly with no hassle. For vehicles built after 1996, an engine misfire will trigger the check engine light which will then turn on. The ECU will record a diagnostic trouble code. Unfortunately for vehicles built before 1996, the computer most likely won’t pick up on the misfire.

Ford Courier

The original Mazda B-Series was a rear-drive model and featured a sub-2-litre, 4-cylinder engine which sent power to the drive wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. However, when it came out as the Courier, it was fitted with a 1.8L overhead-cam engine that produced a peak power of 55kW at 5,070 rpm and a torque of 125Nm at 3,500 rpm, paired with a three-speed automatic or a four-speed manual transmission. Later on, in 1976, a five-speed manual transmission was introduced.

Toyota MR2

In 1976, Toyota envisioned to build a fuel-efficient car that would be fun to drive – not necessarily a sports car. Their work revolved around the SA-X prototype with a transversely-mounted mid-engine. This project was going to be Toyota’s first mid-engine car. Eventually, it progressed towards sporty prototypes, culminating with the completion of the SV-3 sports concept car which Toyota unveiled at the 1983 Tokyo Motor Show.
